
I'm debating whether to dive into Steamworld Dig 2, or check out Steamworld Heist next. After a few tries, it wasn't terribly challenging, but it worked well given the scope of the game. I heard a lot of complaints about the end boss, but I found it fitting given the mechanics. I believe the worlds are dynamic as well, which make each playthrough unique. The mechanics are simple, and never evolve past their simplicity, but the tools you get help diversify your methods and increase your abilities. The missions are kind of a progress-when-you-want system and I enjoyed being able to play at my own pace. The resource gathering is as in-depth as you want it to be and level progression is easy. A lot of times I'll do that much gaming in an entire week. Those are rookie numbers compared to some of you guys, but that's a lot for me. Dig your way through the old earth, gaining riches. Take the role as Rusty, a lone mining steambot, as he arrives to an old mining town in great need. I blasted through the final 4 hours in one sitting. SteamWorld Dig is a platform mining adventure. It didn't last too long (think I finished it in 6 hours) but it was super addictive. This is the first one I've played in a long time. Let me preface this by saying I'm not terribly big on indies. I haven't dived into the sequel yet, but I just beat the first a few days ago.
